The image on the right shows the cross section of a small cast bronze plaque. It is solid.

For simplicity, all of the images below show a recessed back. The type of back on your plaque will depend upon the size of the plaque. We reserve the right to determine the type of back during the casting process.

BOSS & STUD

Drilled and tapped bosses on back of plate. Threaded studs for concealed mounting to brick, stone or cement. Flat backed plaques do not have bosses - they have drilled and tapped holes.

This method is ALWAYS used on house signs and other decorative plaques so as not to mar the front.

HOW-TO-DO-IT

1. Screw studs into threaded bosses (threaded holes) in back of the plaque.
2. Using studs to locate points on mounting surface, drill holes in mounting surface slightly larger than threaded stud.
3. If wall is solid such as cement or brick;
   1. Discard washers and nuts. Fill holes using 'Liquid Nails', 'Epoxy' or other permanent mastic.
   2. Push studs into the holes and anchor plaque until mastic hardens.
4. If you can get to the back of the wall;
   1. Insert studs through holes and have it held in place.
   2. From the rear, place washers on studs and secure with nut

MACHINE SCREWS & EXPANSION SLEEVES

Expansion sleeves for mounting to brick, stone or cement with optional rosette covers.

HOW-TO-DO-IT

1. Using holes in plaque to locate points on mounting surface, drill holes in mounting surface to accommodate expansion sleeve.
2. Insert expansion sleeves into all holes.
3. Insert screws through plaque and fasten into expansion sleeves.
4. Screw on decorative rosette

MACHINE SCREWS & TOGGLE BOLTS

Toggle bolts for hollow wall installation with optional rosette covers.

HOW-TO-DO-IT

1. Using holes in plaque to locate points on mounting surface, drill holes in mounting surface to accommodate toggle bolts.
2. Insert machine screws through plaque and screw toggle bolts onto machine screws.
3. Tighten machine screws.
4. Screw on decorative rosette.

ROSETTES & WOOD SCREWS

Wood screws for mounting to wood surfaces. Can also use optional rosette covers.

HOW-TO-DO-IT

1. Using holes in plaque to locate points on mounting surface, drill pilot holes in mounting surface if desired.
2. Insert screws through plaque and tighten.
3. Screw on decorative rosette

Plaques with either dimension 4" and under will be drilled for 2 holes.
Tamperproof or stainless steel hardware is available at added cost.

STAKE / POST MOUNTING METHODS

The Garden stake is 24" long and has 2 holes matching the 2 holes we drill and tap in the back of your plaque.

The top can be straight or bent at a 30 degree angle (shown) for easier reading of you plaque.

Recommended uses for a SINGLE Garden Stake

• Mounting into ground
• For plaques 12" or less in width
• Maximum plaque size 12" x 8"

Recommended uses for a DOUBLE Garden Stake

• Mounting into ground
• For plaques over 12" in width and up to 20" in width
• Maximum plaque size 20" x 8"

BACK POST MOUNTING METHOD

Square Post Back Mount

This mount size depends upon the plaque size. It is used for post mounting of larger plaques or for the mounting of plaques at heights greater than provided by the garden stake.

Recommended uses

• Mounting into ground
• Maximum plaque size is unlimited since multiple posts can be utilized.

Back post mounts come in either a 30 degree bent top (top image) to display the plaque at an angle or a straight top (bottom image) to display the plaque vertically.

To assure proper sizing, back posts are provided in the following standard sizes;

• 3/4" square - 48" long for plaques up to 100 square inches
• 1" square - 60" long for plaques 80 to 250 square inches
• 1-1/2" square - 80" long for plaques 200 to 450 square inches
• 2" square - 80" long for plaques over 450 square inches

When mounting the back post, you will need a wrench. Either a box wrench or ratchet wrench works fine.

Post cap with special detail

A post cap is a decorative sleeve cast integral with the bottom of a bronze plaque to mount onto a round post. Post caps are available in several standard designs to accommodate 1-1/2" or 2" diameter post mounts.

Recommended uses

• Freestanding installation into the ground on a single post
• For plaques greater than 12" in width
• For double-faced plaques with copy on both sides

Curved Plaque

We can roll a bronze plaque to fit a curved wall installation. Provide the diameter, radius or circumference of the curved surface.

Parameters for usage

• Maximum size of plaque 96" wide x 60" high
• Flat backed castings, 1/4" or 3/8" thick
• Border design must be flat (Straight Edge, Single Line or Double Line)
• Mounting holes through the face are highly recommended.
